Simplify Complex Nucleic Acid Extractions: Learn how to build walk away automated methods for FFPE, ccfDNA, Blood etc.

Automating your nucleic acid extraction workflows can enable higher throughput, improve precision, reduce labor, etc. However, developing the methods on highly flexible and sophisticated liquid handling workstations such as the Hamilton, Tecan, Beckman Coulter etc. is non-trivial and requires an understanding of the robotics, the biological sample, the extraction chemistry, and the quality requirements of the downstream application to assess the performance of the workflow. Join our interactive Forum and ask our panel of experts all the challenging questions you have on how to efficiently automate your nucleic acid extraction workflow.

Always Look on the Bright Side of (Cell) Death: Cytotoxicity Assays for Antibody Drug Conjugate Development

Abzena is a leading biopharmaceutical CDMO and CRO offering fully integrated, customized drug development and manufacturing services from early discovery to clinical trials. In this webinar, Darren Heywood from Promega will introduce plate-based cell health assays for drug development and screening in 3D cell cultures. Grant Harradence and Robert Francis will discuss how Abzena applies developability principles throughout the discovery and development process, using two approved ADCs to demonstrate the robustness of bioassays in 3D cell culture models. Additionally, they will highlight a range of biological methods that help researchers select lead ADCs for further discovery, and how plate-based assays integrate with comprehensive bioassay assessments, including real-time imaging and microscopy techniques.

Presenters:
Dr. Darren Heywood, Product Manager, Promega UK
Grant Herradence, Manager, Abzena
Dr. Robert Francis, Manager and Microscopy Lead, Abzena

Using the HaloTag® and Janelia Fluor® Dyes for Live Cell Single Molecule Imaging

Live cell single-molecule imaging is a powerful approach to analyze the sub-cellular dynamics and biochemical properties of biomolecules in their endogenous context. Single-molecule methods have the unique capability to dissect the molecular heterogeneity underlying biological processes. Instead of observing the average behavior of an ensemble of macromolecules, single-molecule experiments can identify sub-populations of molecules with distinct biochemical properties. Therefore, this approach has the power to uncover an entirely unexplored layer of cell biology and will reveal novel biological concepts that challenge existing paradigms. Single-molecule detection of proteins in living cells requires the sparse labeling of the target protein with bright, photostable fluorophores. The combination of the HaloTag®, which forms a covalent bond with its ligand, with cell permeable Janelia Fluor® dyes allows the titratable, intracellular labeling of the tagged protein to achieve single-molecule detection. In this webinar, Dr. Jens Schmidt from Michigan State University will outline the scientific questions single-molecule imaging can address, the equipment required to carry out the experiments, and best practices for using the HaloTag® and Janelia Fluor® dyes to generate the best data.
