Lumit® Technology: Fast and Easy Immunodetection

Lumit® Technology enables bioluminescence-based detection of specific antigens or antibodies, simplifying immunoassay protocols and speeding time to results. Based on the award-winning NanoBiT® complementation system, Lumit® Technology powers sensitive and accurate immunoassays for research and clinical applications.

Lumit® Immunoassays provide a faster, more reliable alternative to ELISAs, eliminating the variability associated with multiple wash steps, and providing the convenience of a simple and sensitive luminescent detection method. Because of these advantages, Lumit® Immunoassays are easily adaptable to automation for labs processing large numbers of samples.

Sensitive, Luminescent Analyte Detection

Lumit® Immunoassays use NanoBiT® split-luciferase technology, where antibodies are chemically labeled with the two subunits—small bit (SmBiT) and large bit (LgBiT; 1,2). When these antibodies bind to the target analyte, SmBiT and LgBiT come into close proximity, forming an active luciferase and generating a luminescent signal in the presence of substrate (3>. The small size of the NanoBiT® complementation partners minimizes interference with normal protein function, and the bright signal accommodates low, native expression levels.

Easy, No-Wash Workflow for Automation-Friendly Analyte Detection

The luminescent detection method of the Lumit® Immunoassays eliminates the need for the multiple wash steps, and the simple workflow makes the assays easily adaptable for automation.

Lumit® Immunoassay Options

Prebuilt Lumit® Immunoassays are available for detecting popular targets including cytokines, glucagon, insulin, phosphorylated proteins and neonatal Fc receptor binding. We also offer antibody labeling kits and detection reagents for creating your own assays or our custom team can help you develop your own assay.
