Everything under One Roof

Promega GmbH moved from Mannheim to Walldorf at the end of 2019. Since then, all employees have been united in the same building and to celebrate this, there are numerous opportunities to network. Whether in the cafeteria, in the in-house gym, doing yoga together or in one of the coffee bars on each floor - there are plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas. The building also impresses with its modern, open design and award-winning sustainability concept. The nextbike station, JobTicket and charging stations for e-cars and e-bikes ensure that everyone can arrive in the way that suits them best.

Frequently Asked Questions & Contact Information

Which documents do I need for my application?

We ask you to submit your application exclusively digitally via our online application platform Softgarden. This will make it easier for us to process your application and shorten the time it takes for us to get back to you.

Your application should include:

  • Cover letter with information about you and the reason why you would like to become part of Promega
  • Possible starting date and salary expectations
  • Résumé in table form, with photo
  • Current references
  • Current (university) diplomas
Please check the individual job descriptions for special requirements regarding your application.
How does the application process work?

We are convinced that every successful collaboration begins with getting to know each other as equals. That's why we use job interviews to compare expectations: we give you the best possible idea of what your day-to-day work would be like and try to find out whether your requirements for the position can be met as well as ours.

The process can vary depending on the position and the volume of applications, but we usually proceed as follows:

After carefully reviewing all applications, we will invite you to an initial interview involving HR, your supervisor and the colleagues with whom you will be working most closely. This interview can take place online or at our premises.

If both sides are still interested, we will invite you to a second interview. Depending on your area of responsibility, we may give you a task to prepare and present at this interview. The second interview will usually take place in Walldorf.

If we have convinced you as much as you have convinced us, we will discuss the contents of your contract with you. After signing, we will design a detailed onboarding program for you.

We ask for your understanding if we inform you of a rejection in the course of the process, but we would like to assure you that we examine every application equally carefully before making a decision.

Will I be trained in my job?

Of course you will be well trained. At Promega, we believe that good onboarding of new employees lays the fundamental foundation for the success of the entire team. That's why our induction process is ISO-certified and is constantly being optimized. Your colleagues from the specialist departments will dedicate several weeks to answering all your questions. And yet we make sure that you are integrated into the ongoing processes of your department from day one. We attach particular importance to introducing all employees to other areas of the company and will be happy to let you work here for a few hours if you wish.

What equipment will I receive?

Depending on the position, our equipment includes a notebook, flat screens, safety clothing, office supplies and much more. We attach great importance to healthy conditions at work and use modern office and workplace design concepts. Depending on your role, you will also receive a company cell phone and car, as well as full equipment for remote work.

What does "flex working" mean at Promega?

At Promega, we practice trust-based working hours. This means that you coordinate your weekly working hours with your department. Within the framework of core working hours, you decide flexibly when you want to start in the morning and when you want to finish work.

Mobile office
Depending on company requirements, most positions based in Walldorf also offer the option of working from home. Here we follow a 60:40 rule, so that you can work approximately 40% of your working time remotely.

Part-time
Promega is open to various part-time models. Whether you would like to work 50%, 70% or only on certain days, you are welcome to discuss this with us during the application process. You can find information about possible working time options for each position in our job vacancies.
